The only person that is there to help you is the young lady at the front desk and she is terrific with the public.. the two section 8 workers I have had have not called me back. I have left several messages I even left a message for the supervisor to let them know I wasn't getting return phone calls didn't get a return phone call from the supervisor either. Don't really know what is going on down there. But it worries me, especially when you don't get a response from your worker!!!!!!!!

If I could give 0 stars trust me I would! This is the most unorganized housing authority to date!! I went in for a screening, I was then told I never came to the appointment and was removed off the list. Then they kept saying that I needed to prove that I lived in Alameda city which I never claimed, I selected that I work in Alameda county. They also sent documents to my address in San Joaquin county which further validates I don’t live in Alameda or the county. I proved that I worked in Alameda county (downtown Oakland) and they wanted me to request a informal interview to be added back to the waitlist. I THANK GOD that I don’t need housing and it just would have been convenient for my job. However, I can work from home and I pray for anyone that actually needs this help because the people are rude, unprofessional and act like they’re doing you a favor like they funded the housing directly from their pockets! If you can find something better, I highly recommend it before having to deal with individuals as such!

My mom has been an Alameda resident and a Choice Voucher holder for 18 yrs. never had any problems with any employees from Housing until recently! Ms. Joann Harris and Lynette Jordan have horrible customer service skills. They’re rude, they over talk you and they’re flat out disrespectful! I over heard Ms. Jordan yelling at my mom who’s, (by the way handicapped). I stepped in and she proceeded to speak to me in a manner that’s so unprofessional! My mother just needed help and clarification on an issue regarding her paperwork that she was supposed to be returning. My mother explained to me that Ms Brenda Wong would’ve NEVER! spoken to her that way and how she misses the old staff at Alameda Housing.
Respectfully,

I Live at Independant Plaza in Alameda .
they are saying that anyone with a car is not eligible to receive the food bank items that come to our housing complex
I think that is discrimination
because first of all food prices are so high and we are needy
we don’t get raises in our income like other people do
and just because you have a car doesn’t mean you should not receive help
second if you want to go to the old Naval base in Alameda, to that food bank, like they suggest you do
you have to either make an appointment or wait anywhere from 1 to 2 hours to receive anything
Many of us Seniors to not have computers to make an appointment and calling is impossible.
I really feel this is discrimination and inconsiderate of seniors

👉I did my part during recertification period in July. Its now Sept. and no rental adjustment, email or vmail response at all. This is the second delemna of Covid19 on my part everything was done in a timely manner. Today at the Alameda Office employees were going in/out through the back door. A taped voice message says "we our overwhelmed" sorry knowing them i am not buying it. The landlords dont want to hear that and rent is due. 👈
I object too the runaround, rental fee-double standards-knowing thats its COVID19, ernormous paper work-timely, not replying: email, vmail, text just for a rental adjustments. In the past results were produced in 2 weeks from deadline.
I will be in tomorrow hopefully i will get a reply with positive results.
Rite now I not a happy camper runarounds seems to be a regular routine and hearing.
If change in housing is going to occur with all pertinient neccessities of life this is the time to do that, and to consider including 1/2 stipend by the state.
🤣Ya vote how we control fees increases, on usage of manatory neccessities, which are HIGH with a permanent stipend regardless of status conditions. Its a start using judgements calls made by a diversfied panel. UNCONDITIONAL🤑

I had section 8 but I couldn't find a place in time so they took it away. I been trying to fight it! Six years later, still no response.
