I noticed ACI getting low reviews, so I decided to drop in and share that my experiences with them over the course of a couple decades has been positive. Their customer service via phone is courteous and they've even called me back to check that things were taken care of. They replace wrecked carts in a timely and efficient fashion. Their truck drivers and workers are helpful when asked. Their service is overall reliable. My favorite thing about ACI is the helpfulness and friendliness of the folks who answer the phones.

I always found them helpful on the phone and they really are the most efficient such as adding a name to a bill. Unlike Xfinity who messed up so many times. If a pickup was missed, no issues calling so they come and do another pick up.

They have one job and they cannot do it reliably.

Sometimes they don't pick up everyone's bins. Sometimes they only pick up one or two of the three services you pay for (garbage, recycling, compost). Sometimes they don't come at all. You never know what will happen.

Even when you schedule a second pickup attempt after they didn't come the first time and speak to them on the phone, sometimes they still don't show up.

This has been an ongoing issue for years.

At least they haven't crashed into our building lately? But they have before.

It's unfortunate there is a monopoly as they have zero incentive for decent service.

This "Container" is what was supplied to us as the annual complimentary clean-up container. At the time I ordered it, the customer service representative described it as having the same capacity as the small dumpsters they used to supply. This is inaccurate and a complete misrepresentation. This bag can barely be considered a container and is held together with tape and bits of rope. Words can't adequately describe how inadequate this container is, so I'm attaching images that should help. I'm giving two stars only because the customer service representative I spoke with last night was very kind and apologetic. Other wise it would have been one.

I'm going to the PUC! This company is the worst. I have a person who parks in front of my house putting oil and food scraps in the blue recycling bin, so ACI won't pick it up. I called to tell them about the problem and they said tough, call the police...and next time we find something in wrong in the bin we'll charge you $39.00 to pick it up after you remove it. So, they add insult to injury and don't care about solutions or understanding. They just want their money. When I told the customer service rep this was out of my control, she didn't care. It's your problem, now give us MONEY (I paraphrase).

I would give them 0 stars if I could. On 11/29/2022 I got hit from behind by one of their trucks on redwood rd in Castro Valley. He was merging from the curb trying to get to the left turn lane and crossed 2 lanes and hit me from behind. I have a police report stating they are at fault and a video showing that CHP obtained from the garbage/recycle truck that had hit me. Their insurance company AXA XL had the nerve to say that they will only claim 50% liability. I could have gotten seriously injured and other cars would've gotten hit by his negligence and this company takes no accountability. I have the video on my tik tok @reginecarlosbuena. They are bullies and can belittle people because they have the money to do so. Go check out the video and you will see. I was just going to work that morning. I work two jobs trying to provide for my family. This is not ok.

New resident to Alameda and have had their service for 1 month now. In that month, they've already missed a scheduled pickup, not completely emptied out trash bins, and not picked up my Christmas tree despite their website saying they will do it for free until the end of January. Just completely unreliable and a waste of money. Wish the city would go with another service.

I was gone on vacation, and missed this week's trash pickup. I also needed to do an urgent yearly pickup this week, and could not do it via website (note: you're supposed to schedule it a month in advance).

Ladonna was my customer rep, and she called the outbound drivers to see who could pick up my garbage + recycling, and scheduled the pickup for me even though it was way after the suggested window. The whole call was polite and quick, and I didn't have to wait through 5 minutes of automated call menus to get to a human! So thank you Ladonna, and thank you ACI!
