I completely understand all the bad reviews this place has received. I went in with good intentions, hoping to get things done in person, since trying to handle anything via email or phone has been completely ineffective. Unfortunately, my experience was no better.

The front desk staff were on their phones, unhelpful, and didn’t seem to know how to answer even the most basic questions. I went to the financial department, and no one was there. After ringing the bell, I could hear laughing and chatting from the back, followed by a loud “shh!” — seriously, is this kindergarten?

When I finally got to speak with someone, all they did was tell me to email or call. They handed me a paper that wasn’t even remotely helpful. It was such a waste of time and energy. I drove all the way there expecting professionalism, but instead, I encountered nothing but poor service and disregard for people who need help.

I apply for a permit to operate a food truck
Its been 4 months still no unswer from the health department, dont waste your time and money.
Alameda county sucks, just take your business somewhere else.

HORRIBLE customer service!!!! The receptionist is super rude and abrasive!!! Her and the other staff member at the front were talking badly about other employees right in front of me as I filled out my paperwork. Also, no one has contacted me about my cottage food license and its been almost 3 weeks!!! Ive already paid the fee and cannot conduct my business without it!!! You all have got to do better!!! Damn shame...

Why all the bad reviews. The employees here have always been super helpful to our company. The processes and procedures they have in place are for everyones safety. Yes, they are long drawn out processes, but would you want less for companies you frequently spend your money in. Think of being a consumer and buying food or getting your nails done at an establishment who has issues that need to be addressed, that were overlooked. One thing ACEHD wont do is overlook, they want to make sure all is right and as a consumer and a business we appreciate that.
We have nothing but great things to say about Jacque, Antonio, Edwin, Rachel and Lisa. Without their guidance we wouldn't have opened "correctly". Thank you ACEHD!!

7 weeks and still waiting for plan review for a pretty simple store remodel that doesn’t even involve a food preparation area. Literally a 1 hour review. One extra star for the quick easy intake.

Bad customer service ever an professional the worst personality I don't have no word to express my frustration. I didn't get a good service in that reason I ask to speak the supervise the lady she just hung up on me . So sad that suppose to be public service it's not private business .

Worst of the worst inspectors who work for this county. They need to be freaking nice to business owners during this tough time!
Quit marking up businesses for the littlest things. Stupid!!
