The Elmwood - Waterville, Maine

I stayed at The Elmwood in Waterville and had a great experience! The rooms were modernized, and the location was perfect. After struggling to find a hotel due to an event in town, I stumbled upon this gem and was pleasantly surprised.

One small note: I was there during an intense snowfall, and a bit more shoveling around the facility would have been helpful, especially for an old lady like me!

Overall, I’ll definitely be back!

This is a basic motel, but recently updated and redecorated. Room was very clean, comfortable, and although it was small, I had everything I needed. Lady on the desk was very pleasant and professional. I was originally given a room on the second floor, and there were no elevators. I'm a senior, so I asked if I could have one on the first floor, and she quickly took care of it. Also, there was a problem with the key card, so she made me new ones, had me wait in the lobby while she went outside and walked down to the room herself to check that they worked. (This was very considerate, as the night was cold.) Good location right off of Interstate 95, and very close to Colby College. Price was quite reasonable, too, I thought. Lots of restaurants nearby as well. If you want a very nice room on a budget, I can recommend this one without reservation.

Wonderful motel for the price! Normally I tend to avoid motels as I feel safer in hotels, but I read the previous reviews and decided to try it out. They weren’t lying - the staff are extremely nice and the rooms are clean, cozy, and had everything I need. Definitely staying again if I’m coming through the area again.

My husband and I absolutely love staying at the Elmwood. We rent a room here at least once a month even though we live a few towns away. It is our little get away. The rooms are always clean the staff is super friendly and it is a 2 min walk to multiple restaurants and a convenience stores and it's right off exit 127. We love it so much that we won't stay anywhere else in Waterville.

I had another wonderful weekend stay at the Elmwood Motel! As always, the rooms were impeccably clean and well-maintained, which made my stay so comfortable. The staff are absolutely wonderful – friendly, accommodating, and always willing to go the extra mile to ensure everything is perfect. The Elmwood Motel continues to be my go-to place for a relaxing and pleasant experience. Highly recommend!

We travel to Waterville, ME every year for cross-country ski racing at Quarry Road. In prior years, we have been disappointed with our hotel choice. NOT this time. I loved the Elmwood. The location is right off 95 and 10 minutes from Quarry Road. We had a big armoire to hang things up, a desk, very spacious counter space on either side of the sink, and a spotless bathroom with a great shower. I also loved being able to park right outside our room vs. having to get a trolly and roll our bags through a big hotel. The Elmwood was also a better value than other hotels, which is important to us as we travel a lot in the winter. My only two suggestions for The Elmwood: (1) please consider adding a water bottle filling station in the lobby. It is hard to fill water bottles due to the shape of the faucet (but possible with the cups in the room); (2) no air freshener in the rooms. Some people are sensitive to chemical fragrances.

After being sent on a wild goose chase by Google maps, I was tired and cranky and needed a place to stay on a dark, drizzly night. I also had a tiny dog, and a pickup truck filled with stuff, so I wanted to park outside the door. After trying a few places in Augusta and Waterville, I phoned The Elmwood, and heard the voice I needed to hear. Kind, helpful, and accommodating, the young person in charge of things Saturday night was courteous and welcoming. This terrific roadside motel is just off the I95 and it has been extensively renovated so everything was clean and modern. The shower was great and the bed was just what I needed. There was very little noise from the nearby highway. The best part was the smile on the kid working a double shift.

The reason I only give it four stars;
This was closest to the lowest price place in town the day we stayed in Waterville. It had a much higher rating than the Best Western, which was lower priced. We are not fond of motel settings. In my book, if your door opens to the parking lot, you're at a motel.

The Continental Breakfast was good.
