I drove 40 minutes to get a set of paddles that the browns refused to sell me without buying a kayak, kayak dolly, and kayak seat. They even had another kayak without paddles, really making their stance more silly. I've been going to estate sales for many years, search sale catalogs for specific items, and never experienced anything like this.

When it came time for an estate sale for my mother’s home I contacted three companies that offered estate sale services in Tucson. The first one was very inflexible about how the sale would carried out and would not let me designate a room in the house that I could lock to be off-limits and store items I wanted to keep. The second was slow to respond and didn’t seem very enthusiastic about moving forward. The third firm was The Browns are Selling who worked out great and that I highly recommend based on my experience.

I was able to make an appointment for Jenee to come out to the house within a few days. After a look around the house she determined it was a good candidate for a stand-alone estate sale and described the usual procedure for estate sales they conduct. Importantly she was very attentive to my concerns and requests for the sale and that I not be rushed and mistakenly sell something I never intended to. I expected it would be several months before I could go through the house and be ready for an estate sale. That was no problem. They just needed a couple weeks notice to fit it into their sale schedule. There was also no problem to lock off a room from the inventory and sale for items I wanted to keep without having to move to off-site storage. Nor was there a problem to lock off from the sale one of the several gated yards that surrounded the house for larger items such as a table saw and wheelbarrow that I would still need after the sale. I left town during the sale but the night before it started I thought of an item I wished would not be sold so I emailed Jenee and she promised to put it aside (and she did). That was perhaps a hallmark act that differentiates The Browns are Selling from other less flexible estate sale firms that might simply say ‘Too late. What is in the house is ours to sell.’

The Browns Are Selling makes good use of social media and web resources to advertise a sale and from the reports I heard from neighbors there was line of cars on the road when the sale opened. I was pleased to hear within a few days after the sale the accounting and proceeds I would receive which was substantial and more than I expected. The payment from the sale was received within days. When I returned to the house I was apprehensive but relieved at the volume of items that had disappeared as a result of the sale. I had the option when I set up the sale to have some non-profit come in to just clear out the house of all items remaining after the sale so I would be left with an empty house. I did not choose that, thinking that I could sell many of the remaining items on Craigslist. In retrospect, that was not a really great idea because most of the items remaining took months to sell, if they sold at all, and only net a few hundred dollars, so not an efficient use of time.

In conclusion, The Browns Are Selling is an efficient and understanding firm to handle an estate sale. When you have to go through that emotionally draining process, they are a good firm to turn to.

We recently downsized houses used Browns. What a fantastic experience. Pretty sure we received more money for our extra belongings (even after commission) than I thinkbI could have sold it for. When finished the house was completely cleared out vacuumed and left looking good. Made stressful moving way less stressful. Highly recommend.

I live 3000 miles away from a furnished rental property in Tucson. When I decided to sell, I had a house full of furniture and everything that goes with that - it would have been extremely difficult for me to get rid of everything in the house quickly and efficiently. Then Jennee from The Browns are Selling was recommended to me. AMAZING. After removing a few of my personal items that I wanted to keep, I walked away from the house and a week later, it was completely empty, floors and surfaces cleaned, ready for my buyer's walk through. A week after that I received a check for the proceeds that was quite reasonable. Happy, happy! There is no other sensible way to do this, trust me!

I purchased a few small items last Sunday. I didn't take them out of my car I until Monday. That is when I noticed I left one of the items I bought at the estate sale. I called Monday hoping that I could arrange to pick it up. Instead, one of the staff members brought it to me. I was stunned - it only was $1.50 and she came out to my house. I hope I have the opportunity to play it forward in the future.
