I’ve really tried to be understanding with this complex but unfortunately their service has not been up to par for the last two years I’ve lived here (under either management). There is absolutely no up keep to the apartments buildings such as mine that are located on the terrace level.

There are cigarette buds galore, people throw trash from their balconies and because grounds doesn’t tend to this side of the building, it just stays.

I’ve went out and clean areas leading to my apartment so many times. However, I find it unacceptable to do this when I pay almost $1700 a month to live here.

I’ve requested to have someone clean this area at least once year for the last two years. Only once I sent videos to the previous regional manager did anyone come and clean.

I have consistently had to walk through spider webs. I am very glad that I will be moving soon.

Maybe other areas are better kept than where my apartment is located.

Though a convenient location, I’m sure there are other apartments that take care of their tenants in a better manner.

My mom and I have thoroughly enjoyed our experience at this complex. Taylor was very knowledgeable and professional throughout our interaction. Through speaking with Taylor she was able to explain anything we had questions about.
My mom is very cautious, apprehensive, and nervous due to hearing about others horror stories on the news and through speaking with people she knows. However, Taylor was able to make my mom feel welcomed and I greatly appreciate that. My mom doesn’t dress flashy and she is very humble. Due to this, other apartment complexes we visited prior to meeting Taylor treated her based on how she looked and unfairly passed judgment. Mind you my mom has worked her entire life, has perfect credit, and also has money. However, Taylor was different. Taylor is an asset to this office and a true gem of a person. If you are looking to be treated fairly and honestly please don’t hesitate to go by. I don’t think you would regret it.

So the toilet in the 2nd bath broke for the second time. Each time Markus came in a replaced the part in a timely manner. Markus was very polite and friendly. He also explained that he would need to come back to fix it properly which I told him was fine and that we were very patient and his response was that he could tell that we were and that he appreciated that. He also fixed several broken cabinets in my kitchen on a separate occasion and he was very polite on that day as well. I also want to mention he was friendly and did the repairs with a smile.That means alot because you want to have trust in the staff that are coming into your home for maintenance purposes. Thank you for hiring employees like Markus who obviously enjoy their job and do it correctly and most importantly they do it with a smile.

The Avenues of Snitches Hoover: My experience with this property has been overwhelmingly disappointing. Upon moving in, I discovered broken cabinets, a broken stove top, and a leaking wall—all of which remain unfixed despite requests. Maintenance entered my unit without notice, and when I brought this to management’s attention, they offered no accountability or apology. They once disconnected my AC to provide service to another unit, leaving mine without cooling. Residents are billed monthly for pest control, but it only occurs upon move-in. Raccoons roam freely at night, and wild cats are everywhere. There is only one entrance and exit, which has been blocked by fallen trees in the past. The dog park is unsafe with broken gates and is rarely cleaned. In summer, the pool is often overrun with unsupervised children, leading to unsanitary conditions. Pit bulls and Rottweilers have attacked residents, but management claims they can do nothing about it.
Additionally, management seems more focused on micromanaging tenants than addressing serious concerns. They issue emails and notices for trivial matters while ignoring significant safety issues, such as when SWAT was present at the complex. Privacy is virtually nonexistent, with neighbors reportedly engaging in surveillance and recording others.
Overall, the property is poorly managed, unsafe, and unsanitary. I dont recommend living here to anyone seeking a safe and comfortable home.

I actually move out tomorrow from here after 3 years or 4 idk lol. But i can honestly say ive had no issues that were just not fixed. Except the things when i first moved in that i documented and something’s were not fixed 100% to what it should have been fixed but the people i encountered in maintenance always were nice and tried. Anytime raccoons got into my trash, it wasn’t an issue with groundskeepers coming to get it up. Raccoons are scary.. and I’ve seen them a few times since I’ve lived here. I say take your own trash out. i 9/10 am not leaving my trash out because they coming lol. All managers were pleasant to me except one Caucasian lady that is not there anymore. Demetria has had my back through my tough times and i will never forget her. When Toya was there she always gave me the best advice on my situations and tried helping anyway she could. I think no complex will be perfect. Alot of things are unacceptable that i see in the reviews. But thank God u never had a roach issue. I absolutely loved my place. It felt like home. And i hate to leave be cause as i said before no complex is perfect so i just pray i can find something honey like this when i move again. Demetria thank you for always helping me. Only thing left that im waiting is to see if ill get my deposit back. Hopefully i dont have any issues with this because i see a lot of people do at all complexes but we shall see. I hate to see so many bad reviews but honestly depending on your neighbors and where your apartment is located, i can see the issues ppl are having on terrace levels but i mean me personally id never even live on a terrace level lol. Nasty neighbors can make roaches worse. Another good thing about over here is the walls are so thick! I never had noise issues except in the summer with kids but hey it’s summer and kids will be kids. I’ve been there.

Living in this apartment has been a total letdown. I lived there under either management. This place is a mess and if I could give a zero, I would. AVOID AVENUES OF SOUTH HOOVER!
Here are true facts I was dealing with:
When I finally got the keys, it was a mess. No blinds in the living room and the ones in the bedroom were busted. It took one month for them to get blind for me. And instead of sending somebody to measure the window, they asked me to do. So, they got the wrong one and excused this for delaying the installation!
They left a fire escape capsule in the living room, a random screen near the door, and a pile of garbage lying around.
The head shower and dryer didn’t work. There was mold in the storage room and the ceiling fell after a while. One window in the living room didn’t have a screen. I NEVER GOT THE MAINTENANCE! Even after I asked in person or requested the maintenance online.
I was dealing with Ants and Roches. I barely got the pest control which they charged me $10 monthly.
I never got the valet trash bucket. I was paying $30 monthly for valet trash but my trash was collected occasionally.
I had a package that mysteriously disappeared, and instead of owning up, they blamed the postal service.
I asked for help, and they pretended to be on it, and then never followed through. The worst part? They’re all about demanding rent but don’t care about anything else.
Honestly, this whole experience has been a joke. If you’re looking for a place where they care about you as a tenant, steer clear of this one.

Eric Garner called us on a Friday to let us know our apartment was changed to a new unit because of “renovation issues.” We show up Monday to move in to the “cleaner and nicer” unit that is shown in photos.

Later, Amanda Stone tells us that we had to actually change units because the residents wanted to stay in the unit, with no mention of renovation issues.

We showed up Monday, where Bruce helped us check in to get our new keys. The photos show what we walked into as soon as we opened the door.

We go back to the office, obviously shocked by what we walked into when Amanda Stone tells us that “Eric walked the unit on the previous Friday and it WASN’T like that…”

The photos are from a video, so excuse if they are blurry.

- The stove was missing all of the drip pans.
- There were several cabinets hanging on one hinge.
- There were scratches, missing paint and marks throughout every wall.
- There were several roaches in the corners and all throughout the entire unit.

Amanda Stone and Eric Garner should be embarrassed and ashamed of themselves for claiming this unit was move in ready. Obviously they didn’t even take the time to look at it. Amanda was polite, but it was almost as if it wasn’t really a big deal.

Bruce was the only genuinely kind staff member. The other two weren’t necessarily rude, but acted very insensitive considering the circumstances.

They thankfully did not hold us to the lease considering the condition of the unit. The only positive of the situation.

Editing this review to add… it never got any better!! If anything it got WORSE. Worst place I have ever lived. And what they commented below saying “we’ve tried to contact you about entering your apartment to fix the leak” is straight BS I gave them permission thru the maintenance portal, over the phone AND in person to go in and fix the leak. It still didn’t get fixed till months after I wrote this review. And I went SEVERAL weeks thru the summer with no AC!! I will forever post bad reviews for this place. Do not give them your money! My lease cannot be up soon enough! EVERYTHING about this place is garbage!

Currently live here. I moved in 2 months ago and ever since I’ve had a water leak that’s just exponentially getting worse and spreading all over my apartment. I’ve submitted 3 maintenance requests and left 2 voice messages now about the leak. I have black mold all over my walls now because of the leak. My furniture is being damaged now by the leak. I’m late on my rent so they can easily send someone to give me paperwork about that, but nothing is being done about the pools of water all over my apartment. The carpet in my bedroom is SOAKED, and I have towels down all over the place that are constantly soaked. Thought this was going to be a great place to live, but I 100% regret my decision now.
