Beatifully done regional airport. The woodwork is gorgeous, as is the stone fireplace. Friendly TSA & agents. Nice clean sitting areas. No actual food, just vending, so plan accordingly.

Do NOT use Google maps for directions. It takes you to old terminal ( no one is there). Worst part is that I didn't come across anyone (Airport Administration nor American Airlines) who have a hoot if travelers drive around for an hour looking for terminal. It's not just me, I ran into a couple at the ticket counter who had the same experience. American airline ticket counter agent didn't seem to care.

Calling airport is of no use if you're on a early morning flight.... no one answers any of the extensions.

I live between TXK and LIT and usually fly from LIT but I decided to give the new TXK a try since the fare was slightly lower. I really wanted to love this new airport. Check-in was a breeze except the AA agent refused to make my companion’s bag free as an AA credit card holder, per their own terms. Not the airports fault but definitely a rogue AA agent. I also haven’t seen forced paper boarding passes in paper jackets in many moons but it was nostalgic. TSA claims to have pre check screening but I still got sent back to remove my belt and shoes, because they make their own rules at TXK. There are zero services offered for travelers at TXK except a vending machine. Even a simple concession stand with travel items and basic snacks operated by the airport would make a huge difference for restless travelers. I don’t know if there is no PA system at the gate or if AA chooses not to use it but it was impossible to hear what they were saying in the “gate room” more than about 20’ from their desk. On my return flight, it took 25 minutes after deplaning for bags to get to the baggage belt which is odd considering the plane was parked less than 50’ away. Passenger parking is outrageous and about double the price that I pay at LIT…about the same as DFW rates. The terminal building is nice but the Hunter green everything makes the brand new facility look straight out of 1995. This airport is great for passengers that never fly because they wont have expectations to meet. As a regular business traveler, I’ll stick with LIT.

We went there to pay for a flight and NO one was available to offer assistance. When we walked in a guy was behind the counter but he jumped over the scales and ignoring us walked out the door. After about 15 minutes of hearing voices in the back I called the terminal. Of course I got a Robot that told me to go online or use the app. I have already done that to book a flight and put it on hold. I was just there to pay with CASH. Where was everyone one? Why were we not being helped? With cameras everywhere the Employees had to have known we were at the counter. If you don't want to be of assistance and make money just shut the place down!! It's a big MINUS stars for me.

Great airport, but note that GOOGLE MAPS TAKES YOU TO THE WRONG PLACE (behind the airport!!). Almost missed my flight. If you follow directions to Avis car rental it will take you to the front entrance.

This is a small airport but it has all the same luxuries as a big airport. The employees here are extremely friendly and helpful. Even when your bags have been damaged they will do everything they can to make sure you are pleased with their service. They have 3 car rental places inside the terminal. You are able to get through TSA fairly quick and at your gate right away.

Very much enjoyed flying into and out of TXK. I flew in from New Hampshire, and this airport is such a nice little place to fly in and out of. Super convenient, just wish TXK had more areas to planespot, as I like taking pictures of aircraft at various airports.

Airports like TXK are little hidden gems that bigger airports overshadow. Will definitely be flying into and out of TXK again in the future! Also excited to see the new terminal open in 2024!

The TXK Regional website states, "Passengers should reserve rideshares before boarding departure city " because there are infrequent drivers in Texarkana, which is invalid.
In fact, only specific drivers are open to reservations in Texarkana. As a result, passengers have longer wait times. Drivers are available and patiently waiting for airport offers.
