Food was amazing! We had the meat and three and also had the smash burger! Both were excellent! The fried chicken and black
Eye peas were like eating at my grandmothers on Sunday. Definitely recommend coming here to eat! The service was really good, plenty of seating inside and out! You won’t be disappointed eating here!!!

Nice little local tavern! Fairly small doning room inside, but even more space on the covered, enclosed porch. Menu is elevated Southern fare, and honestly feels a bit fancier than the homey atmosphere. Went for lunch on a Saturday and it wasn't tol busy, but the dining room was still full. No wait for a table on the porch, though. Staff was friendly and accomodating (see below).

Ordered a wagyu smash burger w/ fries and a 2-egg breakfast. Burger was good, but cooked/toasted a little too hard and could taste the char. Fries were vattered which aren't our preferred style, but still good quality. 2-egg breakfast was great! Homemade english muffin, nice fruit parfait (plain yogurt, fyi), and when oatmeal turned out to be unavailable after we'd ordered it, they graciously allowed us to subsitute in a small deviled egg order instead for no extra charge (which were good, as well).

Everything was delicious, my daughter loved her steak and raved that "It was cooked perfectly! Which hardly ever happens, most places cook it too long!" My halibut was also fantastic with a nice crispy skin, but still juicy and very flavorful ? the salads were very fresh and the house-made dressings were well-balanced. We were both in love with the cheese-filled meatball as well, and the carpaccio was so good and I really enjoyed the unique pairing of the goat cheese, blackberries and capers as opposed to the usual horseradish cream I typically see it offered with. Chef Jessica Armstrong also chose some delicious mocktails for each of us and brought us a little sampling of all of the desserts which were fabulous, in particular the signature chocolate basque cake with chocolate pastry cream filling, unbelievably moist and tasty! I forgot to take a picture of the cakes until after we had already dug in a little, unfortunately, so my picture does not do them justice! Can't wait to return once they've got their wine and liquor license so I can have some wine paired with my next meal here! They really did an amazing job for a first dinner service and I'm certain they will only improve! Definitely don't want to miss out on this place!

We went to Miss Astrid’s for brunch today and it was absolutely phenomenal! The collard greens and hamburger steak were out of this world. My husband is an eggs Benedict critic and said they were delicious. The atmosphere was cozy and familiar. I can not wait to come back once they open for dinner!

I had a great lunch, hamburger steak with grilled onions and a light cream gravy— excellent vegetables, Black Eyed Peas collards and squash casserole were excellent. We also tried the dessert that I shared with my wife. Excellent as well.

This my new Meat and three favorite place. I can stay in Cahana Heights and won’t have to drive to Finley Avenue again. Look forward to having supper there soon

This place was top notch! A new hidden gem. I rarely leave reviews for businesses, but Astrid’s was worthy. The portions were perfect, fresh and hot, and our server (Chet I believe) was attentive snd personable. As for the atmosphere, it was cozy and pleasant. My wife told me she didn’t feel like we were in Birmingham. Highly recommend the hamburger steak, fried chicken, pancakes, collard greens, squash casserole, and fried okra. We wanted a meat and three for lunch after church, and we were able to avoid any lines and have a great meal at a great new spot! 10/10! We can’t wait to go back!

We had the best smash burgers today at Miss Astrid’s. Absolutely delicious. There are a lot of options for a tasty burger in this part of town and currently this is the best burger option. Great burger, great sweet potato fries, great fries and greens.

We had a great experience. Anthony was friendly and attentive. The food was delicious. I had the chicken sandwich with squash casserole and may order the same thing next time we come back ?
