The fact my last review got reported 🤣 can’t hide the truth.. but where’s my manners, the same photos they claimed they never got.

”Whoever behind these replies need to stop this lyin fr..yall knw yall put me an unsafe & dirty unit because I had kids..the fact that Jan needs to get here immediately, is all I’m worried abt atp.”

I wish I would’ve read the reviews before believing in this place. If I could would definitely give this mess a -0. The fact that Jan isn’t coming fast enough for this lease to end lol is what bothers me. I’m so glad I did I short term lease lol. Where do I start. First off, don’t waste your time renting at this place. After paying the deposit and first month rent I was able to view the apartment.. biggest mistake I made in my life because they had the nerve to say I was able to view it several times before move in 🙄.. So I viewed the apt &was already disgusted. The smell that you could notice walking in from the carpet made me instantly look around and notice what areas were not cleaned. Was told it was “touched up” twice& that the carpet was professionally cleaned “twice” 🙄.. so I go with it , but still had to point out what I noticed that needed to be cleaned. So before I moved in I was told it got cleaned again.. I kid you not , the apt looked like someone literally just moved out. Me havin kids, I was definitely put inside a unit that recently had someone who probably had kids too. Bathrooms were disgusting, kitchen has areas where unknown substances that are hard to scrub off, carpet feels like we have to walk on egg shells because there are dried up areas where food was sticky&dried up at, appliances are so old looking with dents and broken areas where it looks like they tried to super glue a piece back on the stove, washer&dryer looks like it hasn’t been clean in years&corners of the unit and baseboards got unknown substances as well that’s hard to clean off. The sad part about it, the agent who put me in this unit admitted herself that the cleaning company said there were spots on the baseboards that wouldn’t come off.. not to mention, things were also breaking the first week. Toilet handle, kitchen faucet (again) doors for the safety of my kids that’s still broken, hot water barely works .. and now pest issues. I wouldn’t recommend this place at all.

Filed a complaint & it still hasn’t gotten anything better. Sent pictures they claim they weren’t getting and I’m just in awe how someone can do this to ppl who got kids. Everyone that has kids isn’t dirty & that’s why I feel like I was just thrown in here due to the last people probably having kids, because it definitely shows in this apt and probably dogs too. I have brand new furniture that I wouldn’t dare bring here & call home because the smell from this carpet is unbearable and Jan just needs to hurry up.
Mngt had issues with my kids playing outside when they were already informed of me having kids, and the fact the police was called on me thinkin it resolved something is disturbing lol..on kids? Ppl try too hard for no reason. Is this why a playground isn’t on this property? Sickening.

False advertisement as well, these apts do not look like what’s online and no where near remodeled.. not worth the rent at all .. those pics are probably from 4 5 years ago..
Got approved in a beautiful home after moving in here and wanted to break this lease so bad but I hate when things hit my credit saying I owe anything , so I’m just waiting it out until Jan. No good comes to ppl who’s all in it for the money. Ppl should be considerate abt ppls well being especially kids.

The smell from this dirty carpet along with the pipe smell as well when you turn on the water is very much disgusting. It wakes me up out my sleep every night and we have to keep the windows open for circulation. I’m scared for our safety because we’re just sitting here inhaling this in and bathing in it having nothing done or recommended. Wouldn’t dare pay for something to get done to help them rent out this unit for more when I move.. -0 stars 🤮 Don’t waste your time.

Haven’t had hot water since September. November rolls around no heat. Still no heat or hot water as I type. Maintenance / Leasing office is terrible. Pathetic for the amount of fees they charge. I could go on and on. Leadership here has dropped the ball time and time again. Wish I could give 0 stars. Do not rent here.

Abhorrent living conditions. Rude people. They really want you to know how little they care for your livelihood and wellbeing. They let us live in horrible conditions while still charging high rent. Did not work with us at all and they do not take accountability for anything, especially letting folks live in deplorable conditions. Basically told us we are SOL when the heat, water, and appliances went out. I would definitely categorize the property management company and owners as slumlords. The news and attorney general, as well as code enforcement, have been contacted. Y'all aren't fooling anyone with your "professional" replies to reviews on here.

I recently took a tour and I am looking at moving forward in moving to these apartments. The area was nice and the apartment complex was quiet and not super busy. The agent was very nice and welcoming. Didn’t pressure me into agreeing right then and there like some of the other places I visited. All around the apartment itself looked very nice.

Last year the management staff and Maintenance Supervisor Mr. Tony got us a pool to swim in after many years of having nothing.
Long story short rude and lazy manger they have now. Has gotten us a pond this year! We have frogs, slime and algae. It's such a wonderful place to live! Brookside properties you have done it again.

Hi.. it’s me again lol.. the fact that this lease need to immediately expire , and still ain’t heard back on a actual date ……

Been almost 2 months without hot water since I put in a maintenance request. Steady putting in request that keep getting cancelled after the fact we went through 2 Mondays weeks apart .. that this issue would get fixed. Hiring the cheapest contractors to get stuff done using the cheapest parts, but charging us rent that supposedly for remodeled apts? Where? These folks had the nerve to send a notification abt a water shut off AFTER THEY KNEW FOR TWO WEEKS there wasn’t any hot water, the whole time we only received 3 notifications.. but when were we going to be informed when you all knew about this hot water problem from the beginning? So now we’re still waiting 2 months later on plumbers to come back out.. again. 20 degree weather. My kids and I have to go to hotels or bath over a hot pot boiling of water.. The fact it’s a lot of unprofessional conieving mess going on with this company among us residents, is sickening, especially behind the fake 5 star reviews they probably send their friends to post. Yall please dont cover up the truth. It’s understandable that things happen, but if landlords or whatever they want to call themselves care about their residents and were already aware of things happening, why we didn’t get notices from the beginning about the situation instead of suffering for weeks before something gets actually done? This something we suppose to get daily notice about .. ITS COLD OUTSIDE!!! These ppl do not care about folks wellbeing, but quick to send notifications out about rent being paid on time. Having hot water in 20 degree weather matters too. We bathing in this stuff with kids who’s getting sick. It’s a lot of changes that need to be done with this company starting with management who’s hiding from the truth, and glad to say.. I won’t stick around to see.. WHEN IS MY LEASE UP THO lol

After dealing with you all for three months. I received an email about my refund. My next step is I called the nlr location, but there was no answer for days. Once I finally spoke to someone, they said they would have someone to reach out to me. No one reached out, so I called back. The young lady Jamia, not sure how to spell her name. The young lady told me it would take three months to process the refund. Unfortunately, I have been told so much false information, I wanted to check with you all. Once you all have time, may you let me know how long this process will take, thanks.

I Cherrelle submitted an application in September. I was told the other applicant has to submit their own application. I was told them the website was given me a hard time. I would have to keep starting over for some reason the system keep clearing out my application and I had to keep entering my information. At this point no one said to put the other applicant application in the same account. I was given the wrong instructions for the other applicant which caused the young lady Jamia to request help from management to get the applications submitted. Everything went down hill from there. Each time i was told we(icon) will reach out no one called, so I waited so patiently 1 week turned into 2 weeks, 2weeks turned into 3 weeks an so on, eventuallyi called. Unfortunately for two months straight I had to keep calling to get some help. I had to worked my job and do there job as well. Please keep in mind i still had to pay rent and utilities where I currently reside. So fast forward somehow the co- applicant became the main applicant. Instead of a 2bed 2bath, they put 3bed, which includes higher fees. other funds ready to go then all of a sudden they don't have any 2bed 2bath available. Meanwhile the longer I wait the more rent and utilities I have to pay where I currently reside. I had funds ready to go then all of a sudden they don't have any 2bed 2bath available. I cant forget how they said i get 600 off for the months special, 300 off the first month 300 off the second, month. Now all off a sudden i get a email stating i owe close a thousand dollar with no special. Once i asked about special she changed to 200 off first month, 200 off second month. Mostly all the information told to me is inaccurate. Somehow the supervisor Crystal, recently tried to convince me that this is partially fault. Yes she said they had to wait on me to come with the funds. Crystal totally disregarded the facts above. Had I not encountered all situations above that caused me to wait on icon Lakewood they would have the funds in September when I submitted the application. The longer I waited that means those funds sat aside for my new place would have to go to where I reside, especially after waiting for 2 an a half months. For Crystal to be a supervisor I thought she should understand an take in to consideration I had to wait two an a half months. Not to mention, had I not reached out they would have completely forgot about me. There is no way exceptional customer service consist of telling the customer protocol was not followed on my end of their end. As a customer in all honesty Crystal you made me feel horrible along with the horrible service I received. I tried let you all fix this and be patient with you all but my patience is getting thin. Telling me I didn't follow protocol gives me a feeling that you are saying this is my fault instead of you all taking full accountability. I will not be doing business with you all in the future and I do not recommend anyone to do business with you all after all this confusion and horrible customer service.

By the way may I speak to the supervisor over Crystal. The young lady told me in person to bring the funds back once the apartment was ready. So I walked to my car, the young lady came outside insisting I leave the funds with her to hold the apartment, however the apartment was never ready for her to get my money. The apartment was not held it was being cleaned out. She stated the place will be ready in the next week.

These Apparments are decent until you have maintenance issues. I have hours of footage on my living room camera of these minimum wage tards struggling to fix basic issues on my AC system that has about 4 different problems that have never been fixed. You’d think with the $1000 dollars (1 bedroom apartment btw) I pay every month they’d be able to afford hvac contractors but i guess job-seeker hires are the best they can do around here. I needed a new capacitor for my outdoor unit and it took 3 maintenance requests and about 4 hours of a guy just staring at it before I finally said screw it and bought one myself to fix the issue.
