I’m impressed by how much they have changed and improved in the past few years. They are always busy and are definitely not staffed enough but they still exceeded my expectations. Kind, friendly, and efficient regardless of not having enough support. They need to be praised and given respect.
I’m going to make this my go to ER if I ever need to go again.

I had great experiences when I’ve gone to the ER. There was only short waits and the staff was kind and professional. The last time I went to the ER I ended up having a slip and fall in the parking lot. I lacerated my head quite severely. The non hospital but medical staff who saw me fall responded immediately and professionally, helping me back into the ER. I cannot say enough about how fantastic and rapid all of the different staff and departments treated my emergency. Everyone from admissions to the xray dept, and the ER nurses and doctors were so on point. Dr Danielson was great with me. My injury was substantial and his and the nurses compassionate manners helped me remain calm throughout as I knew I was in good hands. I highly recommend this ER. I’ve received great care every time I’ve come. Thank you very much

Visiting my sister at Houlton Regional Hospital. Wonderful staff on the Acute Care Unit, very caring and loving. You can tell they are proud of where they work and how much they love their patients. Very clean hospital, and the cafeteria's food was excellent! The price of a meal was unbelievably affordable. 5 star hospital for sure!!!!

I went to this hospital to drop my dad off in the er because his blood sugar was really high, they take him in and sit him down for two hours before they helped him, as soon as I got there he said “I shouldn’t of even came here”, now I’m sitting here waiting with my dad for a nurse to take his iv out that hasn’t been connected to anything for 30 minutes. It’s really like they don’t care about there patients.

I am from Massachusetts and used to exceptional hospitals so when I had to go to Houlton Hospital I was a little worried, esp after reading the reviews online but I have to say that it was the best emergency room visit I've ever experienced! I was in and out within an hour. The doctor and staff were very friendly. The doctor was knowledgeable and had me diagnosed quickly. I would not hesitate to go back here again!

Houlton Hospital has always treated my family well. I have had a surgery there and had several important emergency needs for my children.

Every time the care was excellent.

It is also one of the cleanest hospitals I have ever seen.

Some people up here complain about Houlton Hospital, but if you’ve lived anywhere else in a major city and tried to go to an ER or see a doctor there, you wouldn’t complain anymore.

Swollen knee with underlying health issues. I sat twice in waiting room for 5hrs, sat in a hallway between 2 people that I could HEAR everything about these people. So much for HIPPA. Nurses never checked on my once and I was made to feel like a drug seeker. They did an xray on knee was told I had fluid on it. Wouldn't tap it because they didn't want to risk infection, no labs done. Fast forward 2 weeks. I decided I couldn't take the pain anymore but decided against Houlton Regional and headed to PI. Glad I went cause I had a severe infection(septic RA) in my knee. I was admitted and had surgery. Could of lost my leg! Thanks HRH.

Avoid this hospital at all cost. To call it a hospital is a joke
This place GP practices and especially their ER department are nothing short of a camp or a strictly supervised prison . Once you put a foot inside, you are their captive
The ER staff is rude, cold, inattentive and lacks basic human compassion
They don’t allow you to leave your room, basically keep you prisoner inside it against your will. The staff do not dispense the patient’s prescribed medication on time, and instead take the liberty to administer other medication they decided on and that could be harmful
They treat you with contempt and nuisance , it’s chilling
Why and how this private company is allowed to operate in any a human related business, is a mystery to me
If you need quality medical services, forget Maine and head straight to Boston
