Shopped at the IGA for lunch provisions. Had my big rig (70 ft. long,) and I was happy with the ample room to get in and out of the plaza. Right off the exit ramp for I-95, on rt. 1. Good spot.

Stopped in to Marden's to pick up 3 pieces of furniture that my mother purchased. Clean store and friendly staff. Stacy took care of all the loading. Would highly recommend this store.

Sometimes Andy himself seems like he has no manners nor cares if a person continues shopping in his store. As for the staff. Most are very helpful

Great place to shop, but not drive. Gymnastics, pizza, groceries and clothes shopping in one stop! The parking lot is very open and a bit confusing. Watch out for other drivers.

The Houlton shopping plaza has just a few stores. Marden's is a surplus store that you never really know what they will have in stock. Andy's IGA is a fair sized grocery store. Label Shopper is a small clothing store with decent prices. Pizza Hut we all know. There is also a bank with a drive-through and ATM. There are 3 locations that are no longer open. The Sears location, which primarily sold lawn mowers and snow blowers, has been closed for a couple of years. Burger King closed its doors around 2 years ago. There is a small location at the corner of the main shopping plaza. Many businesses have tried to make a go at that location, but there is just not enough traffic to sustain anything there.

The issue with this plaza is the parking lot. This is one of the most chaotic and dangerous parking lots I have ever driven in. Vehicles coming from each store take their own route leaving the plaza. There are no separators or directions, so cars come at you from 3 directions all at once. Be wary of cars cutting across the parking lot. It can be difficult to see them through the parked cars and 18 wheelers often at the beginning of the lot resting and eating lunch.

This place is so cool. A hodge-podge of great buys and interesting stuff. Be careful with electronics, some of their stock purchases are store returns but we haven't had any trouble returning item that don't work.
