I lost $2000 to Guptills Logging. I put money down on a winch and the customer cancelled the project. Was told by the owner he would return it. And then avoided me and wouldn't answer my calls or respond.

They had a quick return on a tractor repair however when I spoke with them on the phone the originally told me they could start work if I brought the machine in first thing on Saturday morning. No mechanics work Saturday here so they did lead me on. . . Once the machine was all fixed they were helpful afterwards. I did like the selection of small engines will return in the future

I Brought 2 chainsaws into the store the day of Hurricane Lee Sept 2023. I asked for 2 new chains for these saws and asked if they had time to sharpen the old ones at some point. The counter guys asked if I wanted the Saws dressed and proceeded to install the new chains on the saws, right there on the counter. Incredible customer service at a time where customer service seems to be an option at some businesses. The owners of this business also donated very generously to the Machias High-school softball dugout project.

The young man, Sam, that serviced my Stihl went above and beyond; he patiently demonstrated how to change out the blade and allowed me to film it for future reference. Would not hesitate to recommend their services.

Although I did not go there for logging supplies I am a blueberry Harvester and they Supply Doug Bragg equipment which is what I needed they were very helpful they have tons of Parts most anything you would need for Harvester's as well as flail mowers and Etc can't complain they were very helpful would definitely stop here again

I brought in a chipper-shredder for warranty repair because they are an authorized Briggs & Stratton engine repair. The tech never contacted me to talk to me about what happened with the engine at all. When I called after I didn’t hear from them for a few weeks, they told me they had denied my warranty claim saying that I had abused the engine by running it without oil. They said I could pay them to do the non-warranty repairs. Of course, I never ran the engine without oil, but when I called Briggs & Stratton I found out that once the tech denied a warranty claim, the only path forward was to pay the tech to run diagnostics. So, if he denies the claim, he either gets paid for diagnostics to determine whether it should be warranty after all, or he gets paid to do the non-warranty repair. No wonder he just denied my claim without even talking to me. I’ll never trust them for any kind of repairs, and likely not for any kind of purchases any more, either. I used to have a fine time with them for my Stihl chainsaw, but since they changed out all their staff in the last year or so, I haven’t had any good experiences. Wish I could give them 0 stars.

Update 5/8. So then I contacted Guptill’s to pick up my chipper-shredder which they had falsely denied my warranty claim on. I asked if they could set the chipper outside their door in the back, so I wouldn’t have to come into the storefront for social distancing and all that. The associate told me, “Sure, I’m pretty sure it’s already out there. It’s been out there the whole time.” I thought to myself - I don’t remember seeing a covered area out back, but hopefully I’m wrong. So I arrived at Guptill’s, and sure enough, my chipper was sitting outside the building, totally uncovered and exposed to the weather. If you haven’t seen one of these before, they have a large loading area on the top, like a giant funnel, so you have to protect them from the rain. I tarp mine and place it under the eaves, or store it in my carport. Otherwise, rain and snow just pour into the top and pool up and rust. I poured about two gallons of rusty water out of my chipper as I loaded it into my truck. There were a dozen other machines of all kinds lined up outside, just as exposed to the weather. I was already never coming back to this place, but I was shocked once more that they can be so entirely uncaring about property that is brought to them for repair. And I still wish I could give them 0 stars.

Update 5/28. And, as the icing on the cake…I took my chipper home and parked in my carport. Today, I got around to opening it up to take a look and see what I could do. I went to open the port to drain the oil, and it was rusted shut. There’s no way it had ever been opened. And then I drained out a quart of oil. So all of this frustration, and it turns out that the chipper was full of oil, after all, and no one had even checked. There shouldn’t have been anything about this situation that could surprise me anymore - but it did, one last time! smh and wishing I could give negative-stars

Representative did not know the difference between gamebird feed, and multi flock feed. They flat out refused to look for gamebird feed, and kept telling me multi flock and gamebird are the same type of feed which they are NOT. Representative kept talking down to me and treating me like I was stupid. If you don’t know the difference between gamebird feed and multi flock feed, you should not work in a feed store. .

Brought in 2 saws for minor repairs that I bought from them. 2months later they give me back one I as box of parts and other they charged 75 bucks for a gas
line which is all I asked for. And management is typical guptills. You ain't happy ,too bad.
