I tried to come here another time a few years ago but it was closed. I am so glad I went back again to see if it was open to the public. So much history, nice place to walk around and learn about some of the history. I could see 2 lighthouses, but some other say there are 3. Picnic tables are available, nice nice place.

Great area to explore and learn a bit of history. Parking area is small but there's usually quick turnover. Beautiful views of the ocean. Self-pay cash fee for visitors.

I love learning about history and this place is a good place to pass by if you are in the area. You also can take great pictures with a great view. From that area you can see 3 lighthouses.

This was way worth the random find! We were just driving and decided to stop and take a look. It was well worth it. The views are spectacular and no pictures do it justice. The kids really loved exploring the area. They thought the tunnel was really cool.

Had a great time at this historic site. Complex is pretty simple with a few buildings and some ruins/ walls and fortifications. Grades for a quick visits. I stayed about 45 minutes and there was not much traffic or congestion there.

We had no idea what this was, but after a long ride we were ready to stop and stretch our legs. We started to explore and we enjoyed our time here. This old historic fort has seen better days, but there is still enough to see and to explore. There was also signs to explain the history of this place.

Some of it is a crude more modern wood fort, built on what appears to be an older more complex stone fort. Very large stone bricks strewn around... it was either not finished being built... or more likely pulled apart after it was built. As you can see large stones tumbled below the walls. Why I don't know, but they explain much of it's history around the grounds when you walk here.

Parking lot is on the smaller side. A very short walking trail is also on the Northern street side of the property. Be sure to leave a donation when you arrive to help keep the place up. A box is provided for this purpose with the suggested donation amount.

This is a fabulous spot to visit. It is so old from the 1800s and the remains of it are still well presented. I hope you get a great perspective from the photos to check out. I wasn't able to make my way inside due to the stairs because of an injury. Even though I couldn't go in I still was able to see quite a bit. If you're in a wheelchair you really couldn't get the essence of the place indoors at all except for the lower grounds. Outdoor handicap bathroom is an outhouse.

I was able to get some beautiful outdoor shots of the premises. You could either go by yourself to enjoy this area or it is friendly to families. A few people had dogs on leashes. Overall it was a great attraction to see.
