it honestly saddens me to write this review because I have been loyal to duckpond for a long time now. I love the Chesters chicken. It is always a go to favorite. The mashed potatoes are bomb. However, tonight I went in at 6 o’clock and they didn’t have any chicken so I decided to order a sub. I ordered a tuna sub and with bacon added onto it. Well when I went to go pay for it. It was an up charge of over 50% to add bacon onto my sub $5.50. I almost had a heart attack. I asked if this was a mistake. They said that it wasn’t and we’re not willing to work with me or help me at all saying a side of bacon is $5.50 so that’s what you have to pay. I also ordered a steak sub after I was upset about the bacon and the steak was the smallest steak sub I’ve ever seen in my life there wasn’t even enough steak to cover the whole roll. I can’t help but feel they were upset with me because I was upset with them and made my sandwich minuscule. I just can’t believe over a 50% charge to add two slices of bacon onto a tuna salad sandwich.

Went with my co-workers for lunch here. We've been going for about a week or longer. While waiting for our sandwiches we went over to the liquor section and talked about what bottles we liked. We were not buying any alcohol.

After a while one of the chefs yells over to us "are you guys 21" in a rude and loud manner. Two of us are in our mid to late twenties and the other was 19.

We weren't buying any alcohol or doing anything wrong. It was very rude to judge all of us as young and ask us to go away from that section of the store "so they won't get in trouble". News flash you don't need to be 21 to walk by the liquor section.

I go to breweries and bars all the time and have never experienced rudeness close to this regarding my age. Asking for age is one thing but being rude about it is crossing the line.

Even if you're five years old it's not illegal to look at a bottle (none of us touched anything alcoholic) and have a discussion about it.

Food is good but treating people this way is not acceptable.

Awesome food, great people! This is a well run business that I would highly recommend to everyone! The food is excellent as the service is even better! The woman who owns this is so nice!! Stop by everyone and check this place out!!!

The breakfast sandwiches here are awesome. It's also a great place to get a quick bite for lunch and some snacks or drinks. They're also a liquor store now! So they've got quite a bit to offer. All the staff inside are friendly and easy to talk to. The gas pumps can suck to get in and out of if you're not used to driving Route 302.

They do a great job at sandwiches in that old-school, classic New England corner-shop style. Good prices, too. Decent selection of beverages to put in the cooler for a lake day; they sometimes have new or different options that others don't. Like many or most of these old places, don't expect updating or even much general cleanliness out front. (Food preparation area looked just fine, spic-n-span, as it is used and cleaned up constantly.) Perhaps kind of like a beloved "dive bar," this is one of those slightly run down corner stores with some genuinely good finds inside.

Do not buy gas here something is wrong with their pumps & when brought to their attention they were extremely rude indicating something was wrong with my vehicle. Paid for and pumped gas and my tank was still showing almost empty. Go down the street at another station with no problem.

I'm here everyday,they got great food,polite staff,decent prices on there food,always got a deal everyday of the week on a food special,(lunch,dinner) there fast,it's always hot,and about one of the only places that respectfully keeps ordering my hard to find cigarettes!marlboro ice,thank you duck pond!
