I won 15 auctions at this site over the last year, year and a half. I've had three problems so far. First problem first auction. Bought a bunch of Hot Wheels in the packaging. They were all put in a clear see-through trash bag. Everybody knows card condition is everything. While I was there I did notice that somebody had bought a bunch of train cars they were not put in a clear plastic bag but we're nicely put into boxes. My second problem was I won an auction.
It showed a Texaco truck piggy bank was thinking give it to the grandson. First picture is from the auction, second picture is the item I received. Nowhere in the description did it say anything was broken or missing parts. The last auction which ended March 11th 2024, it was a Monday. I signed up to pick up my item which was a painting on Wednesday 9:15 to 9:30. When I arrived at the warehouse, I put my name and the time that I showed up. I was then given a business card with a phone number and the name Katrina. They knew the item was missing or misplaced before I even got there. My phone number is on file I could have been called so I don't waste my time or my gas but. I called that number at 9:30, I talked to Katrina she said she would give me a back a call shortly. My item was misplaced or given to somebody else. After 2 hours of waiting for her return call I called the bank and asked them to reverse the charges. Around 1:00 Wednesday the same day. I received a text message from the person I talked to at the warehouse. Saying we have your item we close at 2:00 you can come and pick it up. Never received a call from Katrina. I have since deleted my debit card from this auction site. You might want to ask before you did is anything broken

Would not recommend if you need items shipped! After you win the item,,,,, And keep in mind they don't tell you this before..... If you need the Item shipped, They tell you it will take 2 to 4 weeks To package the item and send you an invoice. I have been waiting now for over a month for a shipping invoice. I have to email to get information.And when I do I get the same information over and over again that they are working on it. At this point I truly believe that they just took my money and have no intention of shipping It to me.

I wouldn't recommend purchasing from CTbids of Southern AZ. They do not carefully inspect items before writing their descriptions and they cite "policy" to get out of doing the right thing. Their pickup days are usually a chaotic mess as well.

I once saw them try to sell an artwork clearly signed by a complete rando as an "original Matisse". They later took it down but this shows the care and knowledge level of the people working there.

I bought some ceramics that were listed in "good to very good condition". The pitcher and bowl (most valuable items in the lot, the rest were junk) both had cracks all the way through to the inside. If a pitcher is unusable/leaks water, that's not in good condition by anyone's standards. If I wanted to buy cracked garbage I'd go to a garage sale. I didn't realize the items were cracked until I got home and CTbidsSA were completely unaccomodating even though they had very clearly made false statements in their description. Anyone inspecting these items should have noted any cracks by calling them out in photos or description as is customary at any online estate sale or auction site.

I have been given other people's lots at pickup. Had I not realized it and let the guy know, I'd have a bunch of someone else's property that they paid for and were excited about.

I have also gone to pick up items from larger lots and found later that I didn't receive everything I paid for - they had given them to someone else by mistake or simply weren't watching over people's lots at pickup. I never said anything but now I know their response would be to kick rocks, because "policy".

I can imagine it's quite tough keeping everything straight but they don't value their customers enough to make it right when they have messed up. That is why I won't spend my money here anymore - their business ethics are TRASH. Steer clear.

I love to bid online but as of recently I've noticed a lot of people internally driving up the bid prices. I've won a few bids out of the city (Mesa AZ) & was charged an insane amount of shipping to get my bid win to Tucson. 2 hours away. I'm torn because I enjoy bidding, just not into over paying for shipping & "handling" costs. I ship glass VERY frequently & have never had to charge or pay so much for shipping in my life then I have with ctbids

Rudest warehouse manager I've ever dealt with !!! This business in not very accommodating....I day only pickup is a very poor business model !! I spend thousands of dollars in auctions and this is by far the WORST I've ever experienced.

Great auction site! I'm addicted to the auctions. The company is also a great community partner. They hire returning citizens, the company gives people a second chance when they need it most.
