Cheap feeling, poorly run, poor customer experience, poor service, overpriced.

From the moment I arrived at AWOL I realized that the images and marketing misrepresented the reality of the space.

I walked in and had to wait 5 minutes for someone to show up at the front desk. When they did arrive I was met with an unprofessional, unkempt and indifferent attitude.

The rooms and the space is clean and smells good, but it genuinely is just a turd with some polish on it.

There is absolutely nothing special about this place or the experience. I would seriously encourage anyone who appreciates and expects good customer experience, quality and comfort to look elsewhere.

If you’re a boxed wine mom who wants to feel ‘modern,’ have ever described yourself as an fashionista and spend your free time taking cringe instagram selfies, head right over this is the place for you.

If you like staying at a place who cares about delivering on customer experience to expense, who live up to the standard they set with their marketing materials - literally go anywhere else.

Absolutely the best place! The staff were kind and knowledgeable. Location is great, the room was quiet, comfortable and cozy. Our bed was very comfortable. The breakfast spread was delicious. Perfection!

This was our second visit to AWOL Kennebunkport this year—last time in March, this time for Prelude. We opted for their mid-week special to avoid the Prelude crowds, and had a lovely time enjoying the fresh snow, quiet streets, and fun events just a short walk from our door. As in our previous visit, the staff was friendly and accommodating. Our cabin was clean, comfortable, and cozy with multiple options of heat control. Thank you once again, Brandi, Kristen, Virginia, and crew... we'll be back!

There aren’t enough adjectives to properly describe how fantastic our stay has been. The attention to detail and the effort by the staff has been top notch. Brandi gave us a dissertation on Christmas Prelude so thorough I didn’t need to look at my own research. The property is close enough to walk to the center of town but far enough to get away from the hustle and bustle. The breakfast was outstanding. I’m still thinking about the broccoli puff pastry I had this morning. I’m a little hesitant to give such a great review. I’d really like to be able to book next year. Such a great place.

First time at AWOL, but certainly no our first time in Kennebunkport. Wonderful, friendly staff, super nice room and a lovely setting. Their breakfast was awesome....plenty of options, everything was fresh, and the coffee was great. Would highly recommend AWOL, will. E coming back for sure.

A Perfect Getaway at Awol Hotel in Kennebunkport

My partner and I recently stayed in one of the cozy cabins at Awol Hotel in Kennebunkport, Maine, and it was an absolutely perfect getaway! The cabin was wonderfully cozy, with a beautiful fireplace that added a touch of warmth and charm. The unique tub was a lovely bonus, perfect for unwinding after a day of exploring.

The continental breakfast was well-curated, offering everything you could need to snack on before heading out for the day—fresh pastries, fruit, coffee, and more. We also loved how close the hotel is to the village, with its charming shops and restaurants just a short walk away.

If you’re looking for a peaceful, romantic retreat in a picturesque location, Awol Hotel is the ideal spot. The combination of comfort, convenience, and a relaxed atmosphere made for the perfect stay. We can't wait to return!

Super cute lil place to stay! It really is like you’re in the wilderness…but also right in town! Easy walk to coffee, eating, and shopping. Brandi was super kind and helpful with recommendations on where to eat and what to see. We didn’t even realize a lovely breakfast is included…we enjoyed that two mornings on the porch! Would definitely come back to this place and this town again!

Excellent! I am an avid traveler who stays mostly at 5 star resorts I was elated with my stay . This boutique inn was a perfect location for proximity to town and wanting a private cozy Maine vibe . In my opinion it’s the best place I’ve stayed in Kennebunkport for my travel needs which are walking distance to town and a higher end feel and on the spot service . The staff couldn’t have been nicer and the room was very clean. The complementary breakfast was a bonus which included fresh fruit , in house fiestas and fresh baked goods . I highly recommend AWOL and would stay there again in a heart beat.
