This place needs to take cases and matters more seriously. They dont give you a option to talk to someone one and makes you wait months to even get your case looked at. I find it very aggravating that they would let your situation get worse and worse before they can ever do something let alone talk to you. Its a shame that we have to let our cases get deeper and deeper in debt before this department do anything . We have everyday lives with everyday problems. I truly believe this system is set up for people to fail.

i honestly don’t even know how to start on how absolutely terrible my experience with this office is!
i the father of my daughter has been avoiding child support for 11 years! now we finally found them in alameda county!
i filed for child support 1 year ago!!! 12 months with all the paperwork they were needing!
in july 23 we had negotiations with the child’s father but decided to go to court ! so alameda county stated they will set a court date ! it’s the middle of october and there are no updates! no appointments ! nothing!

you as an organization should help parents to get help and help the kiddos that are in need but here y’all are being rude, inconsiderate and absolutely not helpful.

at this point i am considering to get a lawyer and discuss the situation with him about this particular office and the way they operate !

Update : i had court hearing in december and my case worker “forgot “ the paperwork for my case!
so we were there infront of the judge and all while the caseworker tried to find my paperwork online and to print it out!i asked the judge if she would want me to do it but she was very irritated and wanted the caseworker to do her job! I am sorry but i don’t have sympathy for someone who obviously is not doing what they are suppose to do ! Sad

11/10/22Been calling for months now to have them fix things. For example I got a update in which they raised my child support. But I’m being deducted the new child support order and the old one effectively charging me twice a month. Most horrible customer service ever and of course they don’t care cause the did their job of sending a garnishment letter. But some how a termination of the old child support order is nearly impossible. You people are literally messing with peoples income and effectively ruining lives. 12/7/22Update another month has passed and yet some how they can’t get in contact with my employer. So another month of paying double the child support. They can’t provide me with the termination letter nor allow me to personally send it to them even though they sent it already. Also not allowed to help them contact my employer to get this straightened out.

I owe child support for someone who lied and went to welfare and got benefits for my kids because she is a legal gaurdian. Which welfare put in a referral to Alameda child support. I have reported fraud to the DA, and to welfare in oakland!!! No one has done anything. So my mom who is the other guardian, who has also had my kids in her care since 2020, had to go to CoCo County court house to get a judge to cancel all assistance and child support. So I still owe backpay when I shouldn't have even had to pay my kids aunt money in the first place. My point is, these agencies don't ask for proper proof of kids actually living with a person, they just approve them for assistance and child support payments when CHILDREN DO NOT LIVE IN PERSON HOUSEHOLD!!! CHILDSUPPORT IS TAKING ALMOST 70% OF MY MONTHLY INCOME!!! And on top of that I've been giving my mother money and groceries because she's the actual one taking care of my kids, on top of that paying childsupport and back pay to a whole different person!!! I work to pay child support basically! This location says they can't help me!!! They are charging me off of my unemployment during the pandemic. Now I make $15 an hr at my job and can't afford $170 a week!!

I've been receiving about 5 calls an hour from people who thought they were on hold for the Alameda County Department of Child Support Services. Some of these people have been on hold for over an hour before being transferred to my phone number. Some people are leaving me messages, even though it's obvious from my voicemail that I am not a gov't agency. I've been given people's personal details, case numbers etc. Of course, I cannot reach anyone at the agency that is willing to or can help me resolve this in any way. This is a nuisance for me but it's absolutely abhorrent and likely criminal for citizens relying on this department. Someone needs to be fired, and this needs to get fixed.

Negative experience with this agency, multiple errors and inaccurate information was given to me, creating unnecessary anguish and ultimately degraded an already difficult relationship with my children’s father. I reached out to this agency to help ease the exchanges and transaction but this has resulted in more anger and ill-feelings due to the negligence of this agency. I couldn’t recommend to any parent/caregiver receiving child support.

Worst system ever! No one ever answers the phones, they blame it on “COVID” I called twice, and waited on the phone for over 40 minutes just to get hung up on after a silent pick up. Personnel is extremely rude once you get a hold of someone if you ever do, things are never accurate, and everyone gives you the run around and mixed information. I wish the system had a bit more professionalism, and consideration for what they are supposed to service.
