I didn’t want to leave a public review, but honestly this place was the worst for what you are paying for. Somehow my supposed rent of $1450 was close to $1700 after all these random fees they don’t tell you about till last minute. Not only that when I signed my lease I was informed that my apartment would semi be renovated. So with that I didn’t expect much but when the day came to move in I guess I shouldn’t have expected anything at all but quite literally nothing was renovated. There were so many issues with the year I was there from 2023-24 that I could write a book. Now the kicker is that no one has informed me about my security deposit where I’ve left numerous voicemails, and emails to get silence. Thanks Cala for ripping me off at every step of the way.

This apartment is terrible. They are way overpriced and will seriously rip you off. Make sure to double check your monthly bill- somehow our rent went from what we signed on our lease $1500 to nearly $1900 with all the added “extra” hidden fees (which are all itemized in a manner to make it not understandable). They are seriously scam artists. Good luck trying to talk to anyone in the office bc their phone service is a call center. The plumbing is atrocious and the maintenance people will cover up things by shoddily “fixing” them and then delete maintenance requests. My car was stolen from the parking lot August 2023 and there are no cameras to protect residents.

Esteban/maintenance supervisor is always here on time. He gets everything completed in a timely manner. He replaced AC filters, vacuumed AC drain line & replaced my weather stripping on both sides of my door. Super pleased & happy with service at Cala/29th Street Communities.

I moved here in June. I was anticipating moving here as I love everything about Cala and the surrounding PV/Scottsdale area. I had started the apartment search months earlier. The office was very accommodating, gave me a tour and offered all information and even gave me a quote. Knowing mine would be different because I was moving during the summer, and it is whenever you lock in the rate when you sign your lease. I did my research because I wanted the amenities, the up-graded platinum apartment, beautiful, clean and peaceful property. Everything was very transparent. You also have to keep track of things yourself. Mike in the office is beyond helpful. He helped me get a package from the mail room as I had not set up my Amazon locker yet, advised me with the Cox cable service, telephoned me several times before I moved in to answer questions. There are too many things to name but the office and I've dealt with Mike and the new manager Armando are incredible with customer service and are willing to listen and help in any way they can. I was diligent and I got the location I wanted, and you get what you pay for. Apartment living is competitive, but just as in real estate for me it's all about Location, Location, Location. We are right in the Shea-borhood, PV is across Tatum and Shea. Everything at your fingertips. I am all about convenience at this location offers it all. The pool is amazing, the gym is like a private gym, I love the air-conditioned mail room and the best for me is the garbage concierge. Plus, I don't have to pay for any maintenance or repairs that happens in my beautiful apartment. Thank you Cala!! 29th Street Communities.

Stuck with it to fix what no one else could previously. He replaced the original & kept with the process to verify it worked.
So excited to finally have the electric doorbell working. Original never was functional since installed. No one else figured it out.
Thank you Carlos for not giving up.

I’m never this displeased. Maintenance used my stereo and left a huge mess of paint all over the buttons, they’ve walked in on me without any notice or permission. The repairs that they’ve done not only ignored the problem, but left a really uncomfortable lump of cement in the bottom of my tub. Management is aloof, just gut this entire place. Mold, water damage leaking from the tenants above me. There’s an unnecessarily entitled community, this place is subpar, you’re no better than your neighbors. My car was stolen from the parking lot and there was no empathy or consideration on management’s part. They won’t get cameras for surveillance in the parking lot and don’t have the same security company they had when I started my lease and I still pay for. Other tenants are getting their cars stolen too. It makes me wonder if anyone is letting people know the cars are up for grabs here.

Actual scam artists. Me and my wife applied to live here in February but ended up finding a different place we preferred more so we just didn’t go through with anything here. Cut to a few weeks later and they’re asking us to pay a $255 fee. So we called asked what it is about and they said it’s a holding fee, but their own documents that they sent us says that they don’t hold units. So we brought this up on the phone call and then they changed their mind and said it’s an admin fee. So we said an admin fee for what? No answer other than “check your paperwork, it’s in there” we’ve gone several times over any paperwork they sent to us and there is nothing about a $255 fee. So because of them changing their answer to this scam charge, we requested they only further continue contact by email and they just never responded again after that. Until now when I got an email from a collection agency saying that they’ve sent this scam charge of $255 to a collection agency. So now we’re going to have to go through the legal hoops to dispute that. Big time scam, never going to live here, never going to recommend. If I could leave a 0 star review, I would. Avoid at all costs, they will scam you

Cala paradise village apartments are wonderful! I have lived here for almost 7 months and I am just loving it! 🙂

The staff is decent, inviting and above all else very welcoming!

I stand by with what I said about Cala being a great place to live. However, when it comes to management and maintenance it sucks. I moved in to Cala in the middle of July of 2023 and my apartment I applied for was completely not ready for me to move in.
It was completely crusty, smelled horrible and looked awful. I was so torn by the fact that I was even allow to move in when I did. I am embarrassed to say the least that it was such a cute place when I toured it, but then I see my apartment and I got completely crush by the fact it’s not. Management loves to treat tenants with disrespect, when in reality they know they are in the wrong.

Great location. The units that have yet to be upgraded are alright, but my monthly payment does not come close to the quality it actually is.

Management is rude. My AC was out for 10 days last year and they refused to credit me 10 days worth of rent while the daily temperature was 87+. Would be pretty funny if the management office lost AC during peak summer. Maybe then they would take our service calls more seriously.

I used to pay $1450/month when I first arrived here in 2022. It has since gone up to over $1600. Every month it goes up an extra $10 and i dont know why.

The patio grills do not work. They have not worked in the entire 2 years I have been here. I've put in maintenance tickets to get this fixed and they have been closed but with no actual fix taken place.

Lastly, there was some water damage in the surrounding units that ultimately leaked into my unit. The plumbers came late on a friday night to fix it which is no problem, however the maintenance team returned to patch the 3'x3' open hole in my wall weeks after. The best part is that they still havent returned to texture the drywall and paint it!!!!

They simply forgot due to the poor tracking system they use to manage their service requests.

The location is pretty sweet tho and parking is never terrible on my side of the complex.
