First let me say that they butter cake is fantastic!
Now, for the rest I will say the staff were very unprofessional and disregarded the fact that we were Right There when doing tasks such as sweeping against our table while we were eating & trying to light the propane heater (that took like 8 minutes & 4 staff) immediately behind me - bumping my seat multiple times instead of just waiting until we left to light it. It was 2pm & 75 degrees out. Otherwise the staff was terse & only the gal at the front & the guy behind the bar were smiling at all. I did have the "three amigos margarita" & it was good. The blackened tacos was bland. My co-eater ordered the fried meatloaf & said they had better but it must have been good enough, they cleared their plate.
To each their own, enjoy!

Quality spot with good comfort food. The 12oz prime rib was a high quality piece of meat seasoned well. The beef was a slightly over cooked for medium rare but still flavorful from start to finish. The au jus is a nice compliment and they gave me extra upon request. The server was friendly and professional. The sides were good.

To start, the clam chowder included perfectly textured potatoes. Tasty. The crab cake was delicious and further prepared us for the main plate, the rainbow trout in a teriyaki paste. My dining companion selected near the same course as I did, and regaled herself. Personally, I found the mashed potatoes lacking in texture and somewhat grainy, while she found them divine. I found the teriyaki paste to be slightly overpowering whereas my company did not share the same opinion. The beans were good, yet made to be spicy with red peppers, and the broccoli was simply steamed and presented the right texture. The carrot cake was... well...Fargos has the best carrot cake in Arizona, but here it was passable. I am returning for another lunch today to further explore the menu!

Visit 2:
I tried the meatloaf. Poor choice; like a factory packaged convenience. The Thai salad with chicken was excellent. As for the appetizers: poor scallops, sweet little lives sacrificed on the altar of the extreme, best leave the concept to rumaki. Once upon a time, rumaki -chicken livers wrapped in bacon, were both popular and delicious. Today, in asperation of novelty, the delicate scallop is wrapped in a strong bacon strip that masks the fragile scallop. The roasted cauliflower in a bed roasted bell pepper purée - not pretentious, just delicious.

My girlfriend and I recently visited Village Tavern in Scottsdale and had a delightful dining experience. The ambiance of the restaurant was quiet and cozy, reminiscent of an upscale American diner.

Drinks: We started with drinks, opting for the IPA beer and a Berry Cosmopolitan. Both were refreshing and well-prepared, setting a great tone for the meal.

Appetizer and Main Course: For our main courses, we chose the Chicken Marsala and Pork Ribs. The Chicken Marsala was outstanding; the mushroom sauce truly stole the show with its rich and savory flavor. The Pork Ribs were tender and flavorful, making for a satisfying dish.

Dessert: To finish, we indulged in the Butter Cake with ice cream for dessert. It was the perfect ending to our meal – the cake was buttery and rich, and it practically melted in our mouths.

Overall, Village Tavern provided an excellent dining experience with delicious food and a pleasant atmosphere. Highly recommended for a cozy and upscale dining experience in Scottsdale.

I visited this restaurant because it was listed on Resy. Although I couldn't make a solo reservation, I took a chance and arrived about an hour and a half before closing, which allowed me to find seating in the bar area. The hostess was nice and greeted me warmly.

I ordered the Shanghai Flash-Fried Calamari, which was excellent. The portion was generous, so I only ate half to save room for my entree. The calamari was well-seasoned and perfectly cooked, with the jalapeños adding a nice kick.

For my entree, I had the shrimp and grits, which were very tasty. The grits were slightly thicker than usual, adding to the texture. The shrimp were perfectly cooked and didn't have tails on them, which I appreciate.

I had the Spirited Old-Fashioned, which might have been the best I've ever tried. I finished with their espresso martini, which was unique due to the addition of brown sugar and very enjoyable.

The only downside was that the bartender wasn't very personable or attentive, likely because it was close to closing time and she was focused on cleaning the bar area. Overall, I would come back and try it again.
