Very poor meeting of commitments. I had to call every week for over 6 months and arrange to talk to a auditor for a tax return I filed in August, 2023. It is now June 2024, and after speaking on the phone with two Reps or agents that told me, assurred me, that they would send messages to the auditor assigned to my case to please call me or email me, email preferred, any day of the week, no calls or emails were ever made. I opened a half dozen Tickets to keep reminding them to escalate the issue, all to no avail. I waited and waited but no calls and no emails.

Today I came into the Maricopa County Assessor's Office to receive assistance. My agent was Rocio Vidal, Assessor Public Assistance. She explained to me how I could receive exemptions in reference to my tax valuation on my home which is referred to as the Personal Exemptions and Senior Valuation Relief. Since I have many structures on my property, my taxes went up quite a bit. And it has become more of a struggle to pay our taxes annually. We are seniors my husband and I. Rocio graciously filled out the forms, and was very patient with me and helped me along with the notarizing and submitting of the form for the Tax Exemption for Seniors. She went on to explain to me that there are other exemptions as well for home owners who are veterans, and people with disabilities and the such. She was very professional, polite, gracious and helpful. So I would like to take this opportunity to give her recognition that she deserves for her dedicated work that she provided for me today. Thank you for hiring such a conscientious employee.

My company paid 100% of the taxes due on our property. The check cleared on 12/2/2019. We sold an easement to the City of Mesa at the end of 2019.. I received a late notice with interest stating we had not paid our taxes. I called the customer service help line in June 2020. The county created a new parcel number by adding an A to the end of the old number. Our payment was sitting on the old account number without the A. We never received a bill for the account with the A until we got the late notice. The first person I talked to was very nice and instructed me to send an email explaining that the money needed to be moved from the old account number to the new account number. I sent that email in June. Now weeks later, the money still has not been moved. I called again and was told that the county is not responsible to notify us of the amount due. We are responsible to make sure the taxes are paid. THE TAXES WERE PAID!
We had no notice that a new account number had been created. We paid the taxes that were due and billed for that property and thought everything was taken care of. I was told that we are liable for the interest even though we actually overpaid the taxes. Now the new customer service rep has to submit a form to have this researched and that can take 7 to 8 weeks. This is such a waste of my time, the county's time and resources. Someone should have been able to see the taxes were paid and are sitting on another account. The interest should be waived and our over payment should be refunded. It should not take this much effort to correct the posting of a payment.

This is the absolute WORST government entity out there! Their website is useless and their records do not reflect correct information on private property! NO CUSTOMER SERVICE! But, if one of us owes even one dollar, they will place a lien on our properties! Complete JOKE!!!!!!!

Only giving a 1 star as I can't give no stars or a half star. I guess I shouldn't be surprised as it is a government run facility, but the call center employees are extremely rude, I couldn't even finish one sentence without the person cutting me off and talking over me. When you are just trying to shut someone up and you're talking over them, you're not really listening to the person speak or their issue, you're just trying to shut them up. This is what this person did as I tried to explain to them that there was an over payment due to a refinance, and both the old lender and the new title company paid the taxes and I would like the refund. I told them I have 4 kids, and could really use the money. Their response, basically put it back on the title company and say that they had not received any communication from the title company. The title company did try to get a hold of them twice and they were ignored. Then they proceeded to tell me an email address that the title company could use to request the refund, but they were not able to give me the email address. Why in the hell would you even tell me that then?! I am following up AGAIN with the title company, but it seems the same, government does not want to let you have the money that is rightfully yours. Get some better qualified people in their that ACTUALLY care to ehlp and do their jobs efficiently, rather than deliver POOR service and have a rude attitude and not let you talk.

The sheriffs at the door we're very polite and thorough. The facility was very clean and the people in the treasury were very pleasant and nice to deal with and a big help. Every single person I dealt with was a pleasure to deal with😉

I am disabled and my brain/body doesn’t work as well as it use to hence is why I am disabled. Today, I called the office because I received an email stating I was late on my taxes but I knew I paid them. So I double checked with my bank on the details on when/how I paid my taxes on my property. Which I did back in 09/2017. Then after waiting on hold for over 30 minutes, granted before I called I did try to figure it out why I got an email saying I was late before calling but, for whatever physically/mentally reason I couldn’t, so I decided I should call and speak to a person. Well that was a bad idea!

The woman rep answered I think her name was Gigi she was so short with me, didn’t give me much chance to explain that I didn’t understand the email and that I had paid my taxes in full back in September, and that I am disabled. All she kept saying is that I should have looked online and I could have seen it was paid vs. waiting on hold for 30+ minutes then basically hung up on me.

I worked many years at a call center before becoming disabled and I know my brain and or my body doesn’t work very well anymore but I do know that how she handled my call was very poor customer service. Just because things are available online doesn’t mean everyone understands or has access to them.

If this female rep had given me a chance to speak vs. scolding me for not using the internet and holding up her que...I really don’t think it would have made a difference to this woman. Very rude!

PS If I could give zero stars I would. This is all for the rep that answered the phone. I had no trouble paying online just the confusion over the email stating I haven’t paid yet. The reason for the entire call today!

The majority of employees at this office are not knowledgeable, courteous or helpful. My first call attempt landed me with somebody totally incompetent who would just answer every question with the same 4 word response not matter what was asked. The conversation resembled a conversation you'd overhear in a mental institution (unfortunately I did not catch this person's name). On my second call I received a man named Alex as my representative. Alex is "most definitely" one of the most ignorant, unhelpful individuals I have ever encountered. He "most definitely" does not know anything about his job and is prepared to give you incorrect information costing you money instead of an honest answer to avoid any minor inconvenience to himself. He tries to appear intelligent but fails miserably. He is "most definitely" the quintessential government employee and is a complete drone incapable of an original thought. The Maricopa County Treasurer's Office should reconsider the terms of Alex's employment before it becomes too costly to terminate him. Two stars because on my 3rd call attempt a lovely individual named Yvonne was able to help resolve my issue in 1 minute after listening to the 2 sentence problem. This was apparently too much mental energy for the previous two representatives to expend.
