I saw a 2024 New golf cart on their website for sale. I purchased three of them. Two of them worked, however one did not start. I was told at the auction site, sine I bought it, I owned it because it was an "AS IS" unit. I took possession of it and took if off the lot.

After trying to get it started, I realized that the battery was not working. I tried several things to get it going and to no avail, it did not start. I contacted the manufacture to see if the battery was under warranty since it was a 2024.

I was notified by the manufacture that the unit was not a 2024 but a 2022. I called the auction to see if I could get my money back just on this one unit. They admitted their mistake but would not return my money. I reminded them that I bought a 2024 "AS IS" but was sold a 2022. They didn't care and said they would not return my money, however they did offer to refund my auction fees. I told them that would not work. I was misled on their website and it was their mistake and they did not care.

I have since filed a complaint with the AG of AZ and the BBB of AZ.

If we could leave zero stars we would. Absolutely atrocious experience! How about you take some of the billions in revenue and put it towards customer service, process and a limited warranty process. Once your item is paid for, they do not care at all. Everything becomes YOUR problem...not theirs. We went to the Phoenix location to pick up several items that we purchased with a scheduled 1pm loader reservation. We arrived an hour early and sat in the pickup line for over an hour only to be told to go find our items ourselves. We went to get the F250 first, as we needed it to pickup the flatbed trailer to then be able to get all the other items. We found the truck which was below empty. My husband started it up with no issues, drove it to the other side of the lot (a few hundred yards) to get the trailer and it ran out of gas. It took him over an hour to track down an employee to ask them for gas...enough to get off the lot. Another hour went by and they brought back gas....no clue where it came from or what was in it. They added it to the truck and then suddenly the truck was dead in the water. It would not even turn over. They proceeded to jump it with a mobile unit they said was "probably too large" for the battery. The truck freaked out when they jumped it and all the lights and alerts came on, but the truck would still not start. We googled things that could potentially be wrong with that model in an effort to get it running as they were now closing in an hour and we had driven several hours to come and retrieve our items. The one thing he found that might help was a simple fix and required a socket wrench. For a business that specializes in moving major equipment, you would think they would keep tools on hand. Nope. All they could produce was a rusty pipe wrench. Not helpful. They called over the "boss man", Lance....who was completely rude, no customer service, no apologies, zero personality, NOTHING helpful. My husband asked what the policy is if the truck doesn't run. The guy responded, "it's all yours, boss." Again, not helpful. He had zero interest in helping us with this giant paperweight of a truck. Their onsite mechanic had the day off. On a Monday...when hundreds of people are picking vehicles up. Good thinking, Ritchie Brothers. With now less than an hour before they close, we have to abandon the truck for the day and get in the line (yes, another long line with one employee) to get assistance from the one loader to find our smaller items. They locate our compactor and the crate is completely smashed, like a crane fell on it. Really? We then sat in another long line to exit the facility with only a few of the items we paid for. We had to drive back home several hours away, leaving a truck (that doesn't run, even though the listing said it was operable), trailer, excavator, and two garages behind. Now we have to take another day to attempt the pickup again! Their as-is policy is total BS! Take responsibility and help your customers! If you say a vehicle is operable and then it can't even make it from one side of your lot to the other....it should be your problem. Not ours. Make it right! Hire more employees to help during pickup days, Have onsite mechanics....more than one! Pickup should take minutes...not 4-6 hours+. Keep tools and gas on hand for your customers to use if needed. Don't sell junk that doesn't work, unless you make it known up front that it has mechanical issues. Teach your management manners and customer service. You make BILLIONS of dollars annually. How about you put some of that back into the customer experience side and work on your integrity. HORRIBLE. HORRIBLE. HORRIBLE experience. Never again will we buy from Ritchie Brothers.

Bought a portable office and transferred the funds promptly. I went to pick it up. After 4 hours of trying to find the item, employees refusing to help and calling several supervisors(per the front office), with no answers. Finally a good employee helped me try to find it, after another hour he went to the office and tracked it down. He said, sorry! It was a mistake and the item was not supposed to be up for auction and that they would just return my money.

I later got a call and said I would get my refund within a week. It's been a month so I called the front office. The very nonchalant representative was rude and said that the check should be on it's way. Same thing I heard last month.

I don't have my purchase item, I don't have the refund and I drove 2 hours with my large trailer, of which I doubt I'll get any compensation for.
