Very clean and well maintained campground. The hiking trails are awesome. The weather was awesome when we were here. Rangers are very friendly and knowledgeable. Ice cream and souvenirs available at the Ranger station. The beach has beautiful white sand. We would definitely come here again.

Beautiful state park with several hiking trails. A nice beach where you can relax and play volleyball. A boat ramp and a campground. The campground has electric and water. There’s a dump station by the entrance. Dump station closes at 3pm.

One of our favorite state parks. The trails are very well marked. There are geocaches in the park and in the trails. The showers were outstanding. It's evident that some thought and care was put into the landscaping. There is a huge area for dogs including a dog beach. Large selection of books and DVDs for swapping.

This state park is actually quite beautiful. It has access to the bluest of lakes where you can launch watercraft and there’s a beautiful clean sandy beach.
The parking for the trail head to go hiking is huge, paved and clean. Very attractive.
Staff here are welcoming friendly and are very active.
I stayed at the camp ground and they were almost always accessible if needed.
The restrooms are clean and open, good clean showers.
The camp sites are not very level and I wasn’t able to achieve level as I didn’t have the correct number of blocks. I had electric and water at my spot.
The sites are cramped close together which is a bit inconvenient. I imagine during the summer months the heat can be unbearable and there isn’t the best shade coverage everywhere but the trees do help. Not all spots have this.
Each spot does have a picnic table and fire pit.
There’s tons of wildlife. I saw many quail, road runners and even got to see a bighorn sheep.

The things I didn’t like about this park:
The people. Which aren’t under control of the state park or rangers by any means.
It seems to be a very family oriented campground and it shows. I was here on the weekend so naturally it would’ve been at peak busy.
People walk right through your camp ground all day long without any consideration. Children do it but so do adults.
People check in at all hours. It could be late at night and big rigs are pulling in trying to level out and settle in. I know not everyone can arrive at reasonable hours but it was just… loud.
Kids screaming and running around all the time. I can be understanding it’s a park and part of the experience- but the ranger when checking in reinforced the quiet hours being from 10 to 6. I don’t think rangers are around after their shop closes because no one was concerned that these rules were absolutely not adhered to. People partied and kids ran around screaming all over the campground well past 11 and nothing was done about it.
I understand that’s not the parks fault but if you’re someone like me who is full time on the road- this may not be the best campground to get sleep or work done.

Overall it wasn’t horrible- just something to consider. It’s less about privacy here.

The surrounding area is beautiful and I was happy to spend some time at the SARA trails as well so my time here was worth it despite these inconveniences.
