I'm knew to this community and it was the first time I been in a Fred's store
I really didn't care for it. Seems to just be two random. Three items I was searching for, I usually get at the dollar store, Fred's didn't caring it. The shells people were quite They were not mean or truly unprofessional. They just we're not friendly or showed any kind of initiative or help... I ask some questions and the staff did there job.
They just didn't seem like they wanted to be there liking initiative friendly service not engaging in community.
But, I'm sure there are people who is ok and like that kind of service. To not be bothered or acknowledged...
I finally found a really nice Family Dollar Store. That has enthusiastic engaging staff doesn't mind chit-chatting and finding out your needs as a customer.
Moody, is starting to be a place I'm going to I think enjoy living here.
Of course, I just moved here four days ago..

I stop by occasionally. It's one of the bigger Fred's stores. Easy in and out, big parking lot. Decent selection. Store is usually pretty clean and shelves are usually pretty organized. It is a big store . Even though they usually only have one or two cashier's check out is usually pretty quick.

Fred's is like Dollar general. With higher prices.
But for those days where Walmart is just out of question ( or your wet and dirty because you just washed your car!) Because you don't want to chance running into someone u know!! No other stores around. It's better than a convenient store. But again 20% to 30% mark up!

I was just reminded why I don't shop at Fred's. I was going to buy a box of Christmas card at half price. They could not find the org. price of the cards. They would not scan. Needless to say I did not buy the cards. Got tried of waiting for them to find a price. Really Fred's you have had these cards for at least 3 to4 no the and you don't t have A price for them. Am I the only person for the whole holiday season that wanted to purchase them. Really!!! Get it together Fred's!!!

I'm shopping at Fred's in Moody and I walked up to the check out to check on cigarette prices. But they were more expensive here then at another store so I walked off and continue shopping and the cashier said well that's f** strange. So I stopped the manager and told him about it and he walked off without saying anything and then started following me around the store then he followed me all the way out the door and was peeping Through the Windows watching where I was going for no reason. I promise me or none of my family will spend a dime and that damn store again. So screw you you gray-headed manager

I leave 2 stars only because the cashier was friendly and the nostalgia of always liking the Fred's stores I've been to in the past. Been a customer since back when it was still drugs for less. I frequently shopped the center point location for years until I was driven from the area due to it now being basically a war zone. This location is nothing like that one tho. Alot of empty shelves. Maybe this is one of the locations they're closing tho, idk. The prices are high, which kinda defeats the purpose of a dollar store ya know. There was also a guy who followed me all over the store pretending to be shopping and having a loud conversation on his phone. Some of the other locations have security like this and it was a slow day so I guess it was slim pickens for targets. I was more offended at how awful of an acting job he was doing than anything else. If I had been an actual thief i guess he was a deterrent at least. He even followed me to the register as I was paying and pretended to buy a pack of gum. It took him 45 minutes of shopping on all the same aisles as I did as I filled my buggy to finally decide on that purchase, smh. Aggressive undercover security aside, there's really nothing I can think of that'll bring me back to this location. Fred's appeal was the fact that they were a bigger dollar store with more stuff than their competitors. Now that's no longer the case and their prices have gone up its just easier to go to one of the hundreds of dollar generals that seem to be in every direction every few miles here in Alabama when you don't wanna deal with the crowds and hassle of wal mart.

I was in Fred's in Moody on Wednesday December 21st, and witnessed the manager "Don" behaving so immature and rude. The whole time I was in there, I witnessed him slamming doors, throwing items in his cart he was working on each time he was called to the register to assist the employee. This store is minutes from my house. The reason I will not return here is when he was called to the register for a refund an elderly woman with a cane returning a pair of slippers, he walked up behind her and stuck his tongue out at her. I will do my business in Odenville.

Fred's is a variety store including drugs, household goods, clothing, shoes, pet supplies and a small grocery area. There is no meat or produce, but the do carry milk and ice cream. It's a good choice for low price and grab and go milk, bread and snacks.
