I did not know we have West Elm outlet in California. I popped in and checked it out. I don’t really need anything in particular for the house right now. And nothing came my way asking me to take it home. These rather ordinary things, hence the sales are quite low (big discounts up to 75 percent off)
If you need furniture, decor, curtains, rug or bedding for the house, I think it is worth checking this store out.

Wanda, the manager, is absolutely lovely! Videos she keeps us informed as to what FURNITURE is coming in, and that’s very helpful for me. This is my favorite store to visit when I need furniture, as I work as a home stager and always require new pieces.

I am at a loss for words to describe my frustration. On 11/29, I called the West Elm outlet store in Vacaville to inquire about available king-size beds and confirm their condition. They informed me of an Emmit Storage King Bed in stock, described as being in new condition. I thought, “Great!” and mentioned I would look up the bed online since I wasn’t familiar with it.

While researching the bed, I realized I didn’t have all the details about the fabric, color, or other specifics. I called again to ask for this information and to confirm its condition. Once again, they reassured me that the bed was in perfect condition. After customizing and confirming all the details online, I was excited about the bed. I called yet again to ask if it could be reserved, and while they said no, they reassured me once more that it was in excellent condition. They also advised me to call before leaving home, as I live 2.5 hours away, to confirm the bed’s availability.

Following their advice, I called before leaving to confirm the bed was still available. I double-checked the color and condition again, and once more, they confirmed everything was fine.

When I arrived at the store, the bed was indeed there. A floor manager offered assistance, and I immediately expressed interest in the Emmit bed, which was right in front of us. To my shock, she informed me that the bed was missing the central support—the critical piece that holds up the mattress. She then suggested I go to Home Depot to purchase a piece of wood as a replacement. I couldn’t believe what I was hearing. “Are you kidding me?” I asked. “I drove 2.5 hours with a 4-year-old on a Saturday to buy this bed, after calling four times and being reassured every single time that the bed was in perfect condition—now this?”

She then showed me another king-size bed, the “Lana,” which I liked but found nearly $600 more expensive.

My biggest frustration was with the floor managers, who treated me as though this was my fault. It felt like they were implying, “This is an outlet store; this is what you should expect.” I might have understood if I hadn’t called four times in advance to confirm. They showed no compassion for my situation and acted completely indifferent. Meanwhile, the other staff members were incredibly kind and genuinely empathetic, expressing regret about the situation. Some even mentioned that if they were in charge, they would have handled it very differently.

West Elm, I strongly urge you to improve training for your managers, particularly those at the Vacaville store. Simply being active on Instagram live videos does not equate to excellent customer service. Exceptional customer service is crucial to your business. I can’t fully express how disappointed and disheartened I am by this experience.

Great deals large selection of sofas coffee tables
Dining tables rugs beds bedding and curtains. Best section is definitely bedding. Some products damaged but many not. Staff are helpful in helping load car or helping you locate delivery service

The only outlet we actually want to go to in the area. We keep going to the others anyway in hopes they’ll improve but they never do. We don’t always find a deal we like here but when we do it’s pretty significant. Staff has always been helpful unlike at other stores—seriously check the reviews, West Elm must have significantly better hiring or something because it feels like a regular store with associates who are happy you’re getting a deal for cute stuff and not like a bunch of judgey teenagers who think you’re outlet shopping because you’re cheap. Items here are also in better condition—maybe just a ding or a wonky drawer, whereas the stuff at some of the other outlets looks used, dirty, or fully broken. Thank you west elm for being an actual normal outlet store 👍

Bad service… shocked! First, they said we can’t take the order today 99%, when we scheduled day and time in advance. Then they changed their mind.
Other situation, They must prepare paid order for delivery service, put very heavy furniture down on the floor from wherever it is in a store. But when we asked for HELP, (to help put it down on the floor the closet was up on another closet) they said it’s not in the policy to “help”! How is that possible? it’s their job! To prepare order! Just put it down! And we will take it! After a call they said it’s not a problem and immediately helped. With sarcastic comments!!
Why?
And it’s not friendly at all.
