I have stayed at this place about five times over the years. When it was owned by a husband and wife, it was a great place to stay. My understanding now it that it has been sold. It is now run down. On my last trip to Alpine 5/15/2024 no one was in the office. A sign on the door gave a number to call but no one answered the phone. I would highly recommend you go elsewhere.

Pros: great price, new ceramic tile flooring in room, space heater works well, warm blanket on bed, room appears to be clean for most part, good location in Alpine, AZ that's close to restaurants.

Cons: Very outdated amenities. Built-in heater on wall gives less than a minute of heat and shuts itself off. The room's one room lamp has no switch. It's turned off/on by pulling or plugging in cord to wall outlet. If you need bathroom light on during the night, adjacent room's light with microwave also turns on, flooding sleeping area with light (we unscrewed light bulbs in microwave room, problem solved). 3 very old, used, lumpy pillows on king bed, mattress saggy, old, lumpy, very used. Could not request additional pillows, we were told house manager was out of town the second time we called. I assume that means no guest coffee in office tomorrow morning. Good thing we're near a restaurant or two.

Bottom line: We paid $89 for tonight's room and we got what we paid for. Alpine is beautiful in the fall but we will not return to Mountain Hi Lodge. Aim higher, folks.

Arrived for check in no one at front desk check my confirmation email for room numbers assigned which were 15 and 19 they had envelopes laid out for assigned rooms but none were marked with our room numbers tried calling three different numbers with no one answering just a typical were busy recording then used the phone in lobby for after hours person again with no answer so I assumed it was just pick a room. Stayed there for 3 nights with no problem then on the 4th day was told I was in wrong room at about 530 in the afternoon was directed to a different room which was room 15 when I asked why room 15 and 19 keys were not present at check in he stated they were there with the other envelopes I stated he was lying due to I had checked all the envelopes 3 times and my coworker went in and checked also he just sat in front of me with a guilty and stupid look on his face and this is the guy that claimed to be the manager so was moved to room 15 and when I opened the door was disgusted with the room. As I watched the so called manager go to my first room to clean it for the guests that were waiting he did so with no cleaning cart was in room for about 15 minutes and came out with a cellphone in his hand just as the same as when he entered room I was in room for over 3 days the have no cleaning supplies or fresh bedding or vacuum stored in rooms so the waiting guests went into a room that basically had a remade bed with used sheets I work in this area often and can't imagine a business owner running a business like this it's a shame. My advice either rent a cabin or drive to eager or springerville.

This place is awful! Our room wasn’t ready when we got there. Then there was no hot water for two days. No one in the office and getting in touch with anyone was almost impossible. The new management sure isn’t keeping up the place.

Use to like staying here but now that is has new management absolutely won’t be staying again. My family and I stayed at total of 5 days 4 night. Management was no where to be seen the whole visit. We had no clean towels (luckily I packed extra) the rooms were extremely hot and musty. Bathroom light did not work over shower area very dark, bathtub was backing up due to clog in drain. Trash was overflowing through the whole complex in front of rooms and stunk very bad. We did not have access to extra toilet paper or trash bags which had to be purchased. The kitchenette lacked many everyday items! Had to purchase my own sponge to wash dishes. Pans were old and very limited! I just think for staying that many days we should have more access to things that might be needed such as clean towels, trash bags or someone on site to help us if needed. Everything is just run down and needs to be updated!! not enjoyable even staying there anymore!

My second time staying here and I will return. The accommodations are comfortable and the room meets your needs.

The most recent stay was in a 1 bedroom kitchenette. It offered a Very comfortable King bed, TV, kitchenette, then a separate room with Two full size beds. I WOULD STAY AGAIN. Price is reasonable.

Will never stay here again. As soon as we walked in, room smelled horrible and seemed very dirty. The air conditioning did not work and you couldn’t even open the door to enjoy the fresh air because all the trash bins outside the rooms were completely full and brought lots of flys in. We stayed for a total of 5 days and we’re only given 2 big towels and 2 small towels (were a family of 5). Not once were we able to get ahold of anyone at the office to get extra towels, trash bags or toilet paper (we ended up having to buy our own). The grill/picnic area was also unclean and we even had to go dump the big trash bin for management so we could enjoy our dinner. To top it all off, while looking for trash bags we found used bed bug spray & fogger boxes under the sink!! 🤢 We brought 4 other families with us that stayed in 4 other rooms and they all had the same experience 😞
